Unfortunately, due to an error, we recently lost the many messages of thanks and appreciation that we and our members have received over the years… therefore we’ve started again.
Guest: 70th Anniversary Normandy (29th January 2013)
I do hope the public will educate the young about 6th June 1944 and the commemorative 70th Anniversary coming up next year. I also hope you will receive lots of much needed cash donations through your paypal link to help get these aging veterans to Normandy in 2014, considering their age will be in the 90’s.
This will be their final chance to say goodbye at the war graves and memorials to their comrades and lost friends plus close a chapter for the very last time in living history. This is something the world will never see again or have the chance to honor.
Thank you and God bless you all!
Jim: Thank You (2nd January 2013)
Association for Veterans of Foreign Wars,
I want to express my appreciation for the work done by your organization to further the legacy and lessons of The Second World War. We remaining WWII veterans find it gratifying that groups such as yours do so much to preserve and promote our history. It has been one of the delights of my late life to see this happen.
I also want your members to know that the best time of my WWII experience was the year (September, 1943 to September, 1944) I spent in Ramsbury, England during the time my 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment was preparing for our jumps into Normandy and Holland. The English people were nothing but supportive and kind to we young paratroopers. To this day I maintain friendships that were formed during this period.
Though the last time I saw Ramsbury/Wiltshire was September 17, 1944 (the day of our jump into Holland) I remain hopeful that I will walk High Street once again.
